Quick Note: In this page, you will learn about MATHia's unique features for personalized feedback and performance tracking during your PLUS tutoring sessions.
0️⃣ Exploring MATHia Workspaces
MATHia workspace is an interactive space where students tackle scenario-based math problems. The workspace layout includes a word problem on the left and corresponding questions on the right, designed for student engagement and comprehension.
Here’s what happens in a MATHia workspace: the left side of the screen presents a word problem, while the right side of the screen has questions a student has to answer to answer the word problem.
1️⃣ Starting with a Sample Problem
Students begin by exploring a “step-by-step” instructional example, setting the stage for the upcoming exercises.
The students get an option to refer a sample “step-by-step” explanation example, before starting with a real problem.
2️⃣ Solving Problems in the Workspace
After reviewing the example, students tackle the actual problems, applying what they've learned to similar scenarios.
3️⃣ Supporting Features in the Workspace
Hint Tab: Offers progressive hints for each question.
Sample Example: Always available for reference.
MATHia monitors the usage of “sample problems,” adjusting the student’s progress tracker accordingly.
Instructional Tools: Additional support for complex problems.
