Quick Note: In this page, you will learn about how to assess student’s progress on MATHia.
0️⃣ How MATHia Tracks Student Skills and Mastery
Initial Skill Levels: These are not zero at the start due to previous knowledge or independent learning capabilities.
Correct Answers: Each correct response boosts the mastery level, indicating a deeper skill understanding.
Incorrect Answers and Hints: These may lower the mastery level, reflecting gaps in comprehension.
Hints Leading to Understanding: In certain cases, hints can enhance understanding and increase mastery levels.
Learning from Mistakes: Sometimes, making errors and learning from them can positively impact mastery levels.
Limitations on Hints: Repeated reliance on hints won't continually raise mastery levels, preventing students from using hints alone to complete a unit.
1️⃣ How to use MATHia’s Progress Tracker
The progress tracker, located at the top right corner of the screen, features donut-shaped icons that visually represent a student's progress during their session.
By clicking on the progress tracker, students can view a detailed breakdown of their advancement across various skills required in the workspace.
