0️⃣ Overview

Hello Tutors! As you join your Zoom tutoring sessions, it's essential to have host or co-host access, as it ensures efficient session management.

This is important because:

  1. Only hosts and Co-hosts are capable of creating breakout rooms in Zoom.

  2. You won’t be able to move across breakout rooms to assist your students without a co-host’s access.


1️⃣ Enabling Co-host Access


2️⃣ Assigning Co-Host Access

Context: You're the host of a Zoom session, but other tutors lack co-host status.

Action Steps: As the host, you can assign co-host permissions. Remember, Zoom restricts co-hosts from adding other co-hosts.


3️⃣ Assigning Alternate Host Access

Context: As a lead tutor, you've set up a session link for the semester and need to assign access to new tutors.

Solution: To prevent issues like in Scenario 1, you can assign alternate host access right from the beginning.

4️⃣ No Host Access

Context: You and your co-tutors are in a session without host or co-host status.

Solution: Immediately notify Jaquelin (Jackie) or Erin on the PLUS tutors Slack Channel for assistance.
